Broadway to host ‘Back to the Future,’ musical next summer

When the musical opens next year, it will be available on Broadway in New York City for fans of the sci-fi film “Back to the Future,” which was a hit in 1985.

According to the website of the musical, the curtain will be raised at the Winter Garden Theater on June 30, 2023.

“Welcome, Hill Valley!” Marty McFly accidentally alters history when he finds himself transported back in time to 1955 using a time machine created by Doc Brown. He’s now in a race against the clock to fix the present, escape from the past, and send himself… back into the future.

The film tells the story of a teenage boy who accidentally travels back in time in a DeLorean car and prevents his future parents from falling for him. This threatens his existence.

Michael J. was recently reunited with the film’s stars. Fox and Christopher Lloyd were reunited at New York Comic Con.

With two sequels and theme park rides, the movie is now considered one of the most important films ever made.

“Back to the Future,” which also stars Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson, and Claudia Wells, was produced on a $19M budget and has grossed nearly $400 million at the box office.

The film won an Academy Award for sound effects editing and was nominated for three additional nominations including the best original song, Huey Lewis’ “The Power of Love”, and The News’s “The Power of Love”.

The musical is currently playing in London’s West End.
