Tesla’s India market entry could be months away

Reporting by Bloomberg indicates EVs will be imported for sale in three key cities, with no current plans for local assembly. By Stewart Burnett

Tesla is preparing to make its entry into India’s emerging electric vehicle (EV) market with a shipment of a few thousand vehicles to a port near Mumbai, sources told Bloomberg on 20 February 2025. Sources added that dealerships will open in the three key cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore sometime in Q3 2025.
