Nissan stops taking US orders for Mexico-made Infiniti SUVs


Nissan also appears to be going back on at least some of its plans to trim headcount and production capacity in the US. By Stewart Burnett

In a move intended to avoid raising prices due to tariffs, Nissan announced on 3 April that it would stop taking US orders for the Infiniti QX50 and QX55 SUVs. It will instead drastically scale back its production footprint at the plant, which is a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz.
