Living with Contagious Joy in Christ

It’s easy – even for Christians – to develop a negative attitude about the world. We can feel concerned and discouraged about many things – corruption in government, injustice, poverty, war, abortion.

Author Brant Hansen knows the struggle with anxiety all too well. His dad was a pastor whose hypocritical behavior and affair tore his family apart. It was a frightening and dark time for Brant, his brother, and his mother, who were forced to give up all they had and move into a small house.

How do we find peace in a world of uncertainty?

Dallas Willard said joy is “not a passing sensation of pleasure, but a pervasive sense of well-being.”

Jesus said we will have tribulation, but He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Jesus knows full well the realities of injustice, disease and death. Yet, he tells us not to spend time worrying about the future. If the country falls to pieces, if evil people seem to be winning, if we lose everything, should we be anxious? No.

Sound impossible?

Brant Hansen has a great way of pointing people to the truth of the Gospel and the joy we can have in Jesus. The battle has already been won! But sometimes we act like it’s not.

Brant is a best-selling author and a radio personality whose show is syndicated on more than 200 Christian radio stations. He’s joining me on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly to encourage you to live with joy, share God’s love, and experience His peace.
