For His Final Race With Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton Sported Full Ferrari Red

This weekend, Lewis Hamilton drove his last race for Mercedes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, finishing in P4 to end his 2024 season and his 12-year stint with the team. But history aside, the paddock fashion king used his fits to remind us of his move to Ferrari next season.

On Saturday, Hamilton flexed his menswear final boss credentials in a red Rick Owens look. Up top, he wore a lengthy button-fastened overshirt over a ripped white vest, and quilted liner. To finish things off, he rocked some ultra-baggy pants, which faded from red to maroon to white. It’s relaxed, oversized, and fits right into the F1 ace’s mix of luxury and streetwear that he’s got dialed.

Hamilton has favored Rick Owens, fashion’s lord of darkness, for previous trackside appearances, but they’ve normally landed on the muted end of the spectrum. But given he’ll be driving for Ferrari next season, this high-style meets motorsport crossover works even better. It’s the kind of avant-garde outfit that shows the driver can adapt to anything, including a whole new car and team.

On Sunday’s race day, Hamilton again went hard on Ferrari-coded menswear in Dior, for whom he serves an ambassador and recently guest-designed a capsule collection. He rocked a solid red roomy band collar shirt with matching baggy pants and contrasting black work boots. To round out the fit, he threw in an Italian touch with a pair of black square-framed sunglasses from Gucci.
